- A Spanish teacher at Kit Carson International Academy was recorded using racist language on graduation day. The school issued an apology, but experts weighed in that the apology was not enough. (CBS Sacramento)
- Authorities are searching for 2 Nevada jail escapees, one of whom was last seen in Sacramento. Deputies are searching for 28-year-old Cody J. Abernathy in the Sacramento area after a chase with a stolen vehicle resulted in a crash. One of the occupants in the vehicle, who fled the scene, matched a description of Abernathy. The other occupant was found and was identified as the other escapee. (FOX40)
- A Sacramento serial rapist may be paroled decades before his sentence is complete. Paul Eugene Robinson was convicted for the assault and rape of a woman in 1994. He is eligible for parole after serving only one third of his sentence. His victims and the Sacramento County district attorney are working to keep him behind bars. (CBS Sacramento)
- The mystery continues in a killing in the Del Paso Heights neighborhood six years ago. The family is still seeking answers in the shooting death of Justin Oliphant. The family held a memorial service Monday, June 28 and released balloons into the air hoping to keep focus on the case. (ABC10)
- Teen Hot Spots are back and better than ever! With the emergence of COVID last year, these events went online, but they're back IRL this year! Events will feature lots of socialization time with friends and include things like food trucks, movie nights, theme nights and more. These events will run from July through September for youth 13 through 17. Events are free, but registration is required. (Sacramento City Express)

- Join KCRA's Edie Lambert in a discussion with LA Supervisor Holly J. Mitchell in this She Shares virtual event. Holly will discuss her time serving on the all female Board of Supervisors. This event is open to all and it's free, but pre-registration is required. (12 noon)
- Catch not one, but two concerts at the Palladio in Folsom! Start with Chix with Stix at Barnes and Noble and then mosey on over to the quad for the kick off of the Palladio Concert Series with Pop Fiction! (6 pm and 7 pm)
- Wednesday night is trivia night at University of Beer. Head on over and put your knowledge to the test! Bring some brainy friends and form a team and a Wednesday night tradition! (8 pm)
- Closer to West Sac than downtown? Come out to Jackrabbit Brewing for its Wednesday night trivia! Seems like craft brew and trivia go down pretty well in Sacramento on hump day! (6:30 pm)
- Get in tune with nature and the water as you test your balance and core strength with Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) yoga! I promise it is easier than it sounds. (6:30 pm)

- The rivers and waterways in Sacramento can be enticing in the heat, but they can also be dangerous! The currents can be strong and unpredictable and the water is cold. Please take advantage of the life jacket loaner programs available in Sacramento and the surrounding areas!
- Is Governor Newsom a Democrat? That may be an open question in some peoples' minds as they cast their ballots in the recall election. Due to an error by his attorney last year omitting his party affiliation from some paperwork, right now the Governor's party will not be listed next to his name on the ballot. He is suing to reverse that decision.
