LODI, CA — An experienced skydiver died in California on Saturday after her parachute failed to fully open as she was falling toward the ground, the Associated Press reported.

The woman, who was described as an experienced jumper, launched from the Lodi Parachute Center in San Joaquin County on Saturday, where more than 20 other fatal skydiving accidents have been reported since 1981, according to previous reporting by the Sacramento Bee.
