91 CA Zip Codes Among 100 Most Expensive In U.S.
A total of 91 of the 100 most expensive zip codes in the U.S. are in the Golden State, according to a report by PropertyShark.
CALIFORNIA — California real estate is expensive. In fact, 91 of the 100 most expensive zip codes in the U.S. are in the Golden State, including six of the 10 priciest, according to a report by real estate data provider PropertyShark.
At $7 million, Atherton's 94027 is the most expensive zip code in the country for the third year in a row, according to the report. The wealthy town is in San Mateo County.
Los Angeles County claimed the highest number of priciest zip codes with 21, according to the study, but San Francisco took the title of the most expensive city with 13 of the country's priciest zip codes. The Bay Area is the most expensive metropolitan area as it is home to 55 of the country's top zip codes.

To determine the most expensive zip codes in the U.S., PropertyShark looked at residential transactions closed between Jan. 1, 2019, and Nov. 5, 2019, taking into account condo, co-ops, single- and two-family homes. All package deals were excluded, according to the site.
