49ers 1 Win Away From Super Bowl After Defeating Vikings
The 49ers used a dominant defensive performance and heavy rushing attack to win their first playoff game since 2014.

SANTA CLARA, CA — The San Francisco 49ers are one win away from a trip to Super Bowl LIV, advancing to the NFC championship game with a 27-10 victory against the Minnesota Vikings in the divisional round of the NFL playoffs at Levi's Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The 49ers used a dominant defensive performance and heavy rushing attack to win their first playoff game since 2014. The team rushed for 186 yards, with Tevin Coleman leading the way with 22 carries for 105 yards and two touchdowns.
"We really believed the team that got over 30 runs would win," 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said in his post-game media availability, according to the team. "We thought only one team would and that was a complete team goal. The offense would not have been able to get that many runs if the defense didn't play like they did and if the special teams didn't play that way also."

San Francisco carried a 13-3 regular season record into their first postseason appearance since the 2013-2014 season. Prior to Saturday's contest - which was also the first playoff game at Levi's Stadium - the 49ers last played in the postseason against the Seattle Seahawks, losing a 23-17 road contest in that season's NFC championship game.
This year's conference title game may be a rematch of that fateful contest nearly 6 years ago. The 49ers will play the winner of Sunday's other NFC divisional round match-up, as the Seahawks will play against the Green Bay Packers at 3:40 p.m. today.
San Francisco hosts the Seahawks-Packers winner next Sunday, Jan. 18, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara with kickoff scheduled for 3:40 p.m.
