49ers Beat Packers To Win NFC Title, Advance To Super Bowl

The San Francisco 49ers advanced to the Super Bowl after defeating the Green Bay Packers, 37-20 in the NFC Championship game.

SANTA CLARA, CA — The magical run by this year's San Francisco 49ers will continue to the Super Bowl. The Niners defeated the Green Bay Packers 37-20 at home Sunday in the NFC Championship game at Levi's Stadium, earning the team a trip to Super Bowl LIV.

The win sets up a Super Bowl matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, who beat the Tennessee Titans earlier Sunday in the AFC title game.

The 49ers entered the game as favorites against Green Bay, having dismantled the Packers 37-8 in Week 11 of the regular season.

Entering Sunday, the 49ers had won three straight games and finished the regular season 13-3. Renowned for its defense, this year's 49ers have benefited greatly from the talents of defensive whizzes Nick Bosa, Fred Warner and Richard Sherman.

The Packers had an impressive year of their own, as perennial Pro Bowler Aaron Rodgers led Green Bay to a 13-3 finish.

Still, the Niners came out on top, winning a berth to Super Bowl LIV in Miami on Feb. 2. It will be the team's first appearance in the big game since 2013, when the 49ers lost to the Baltimore Ravens in a close game in Super Bowl XLVII.
