SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Restaurant Fable, in San Francisco's Castro neighborhood, has boosted its al fresco atmosphere with a mini renovation of its outdoor area, and added to its daily repertoire a new lunch service and a “Charcuterie & Wine Time” happy hour as the establishment reopens for on-site dining.

“We feel fortunate that Fable can welcome back customers to an updated, open-air garden patio,” co-owner Ramsey Garcia said. “We really hope that people will come out to support the Castro neighborhood businesses and local restaurant community.”

The eatery, which boasts a finely crafted, seasonal menu, routinely received raves for its outdoor eating space, likened to a "garden oasis." And management opted to use the three months of quarantine shutdown to further amp up and weather-proof the deck setting with greenhouse-style, overhead coverings and heat lamps.

Akin to other city restaurants hit hard during stay-at-home orders, Fable swiveled and stayed afloat with a carry-out menu and contactless ordering — a big change for the establishment with a seven-year history of in-house-only service.

“We’ve now mastered plating food in a box, instead of on ceramic, and putting wine in a bag, instead of a glass,” Jon Vargas, Fable’s new co-owner said.
