Financial Women of San Francisco Celebrate IWD March 8

SAN FRANCISCO – March 1, 2021 – In celebration of this year’s International Women's Day (#IWD2021) on Monday, March 8, 2021 the Financial Women of San Francisco (FWSF) will hold a virtual event to celebrate women’s achievement, raise awareness against bias and take action for equality. All genders and non-members are invited to attend.

Sallie Krawcheck, the dynamic CEO and Co-Founder of Ellevest, a digital financial company for women, by women, will kick off the event at 1 p.m. Pacific time with a keynote address, “A Seat at the Decision Making Table – The Future of Women in Financial Services.” Krawcheck’s professional mission is to help women reach their financial and professional goals, thus enabling them to live better lives and unleashing a positive ripple effect for women’s families, communities, and the greater economy.

“It’s a crucial time for women to challenge the biases we face every day: We’re too often held back in our careers while our male peers are promoted to positions of power,” said Krawcheck. “There are more CEOs named John than there are women CEOs of multinational companies. And we’re too often told that the gender work achievement gap is our own fault. It’s not.”

What better time than International Women’s Day — and what better place than with the hundreds of financial women of San Francisco — to talk about the actions we can take to close this gap and take our well-deserved seats at the table?”

FWSF promises an afternoon of solutions-oriented discussions to follow. At 2 p.m., following Krawcheck, there will be four concurrent sessions led by four innovative facilitators, experts on their topics. Attendees will choose one breakout session preference from the following offerings:

• Powerful Virtual Presentations and Conversations How to build skills and confidence to develop and deliver presentations, prepare for conversations, and to treat each as a precious opportunity.
• Leadership: NOT by the Numbers How to break the mold and take risks by not following the program that is laid out for us, but rather by following something greater.
• Creating a Feedback Culture How to gain confidence as a role model and what it looks like to give and receive feedback well (even if the message is difficult).
• Mid-Life Transitions and Your Career How to address the internal and external changes and challenges that occur during the midlife years (40s, 50s & 60s) that have a significant impact on personal fulfillment and professional success.

At 3 p.m. there will be a panel discussion on "The Future of Women in Finance" moderated by Melissa Maquilan Radic, director of Investor Relations & Capital Markets at IMPACT Community Capital. This panel will be followed by networking in virtual breakout groups.
