Golden Gate Bridge Parking Lots Closed
The lots will remain closed to the public seven days a week while the coronavirus shelter orders are in effect.
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Parking lots at the Golden Gate Bridge closed Monday as a precautionary measure to avoid crowding during the COVID-19 pandemic and shelter-in-place public health orders, the Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District said.
The lots will remain closed to the public seven days a week while the shelter orders are in effect.
District officials said visitorship has declined dramatically since the shelter orders went into effect on March 17, indicating the public is largely obeying the orders and helping communities stay safe and healthy.

The district also has placed signs about the parking lot closures around entrances to the Bridge, and security staff will continue monitoring pedestrian and bicycle traffic on the bridge sidewalks to ensure social distancing is maintained.
Security, maintenance, toll collection, traffic management, Golden Gate Transit and Golden Gate Ferry will continue during the duration of the shelter-in-place order.
