Haze And Smoke Continues To Shroud Bay Area
San Francisco and the surrounding Bay cities had an Air Quality Index upwards of 160 Sunday, meaning the air was unhealthy for all groups.
BAY AREA, CA — Amid widespread fires across Northern California that severely hampered air quality through the weekend, some restaurants opted to closed their doors with many residents warned to stay indoors to ride out the smokey haze. Residents have been waking up to cryptic haze and blood-orange skies since Wednesday.
San Francisco and the surrounding Bay cities had an Air Quality Index upwards of 160 Sunday, meaning the air was unhealthy for all groups.
As smoke and haze continued to blanket the Bay Area Sunday, dense fog was expected to gather along the coast, according to the National Weather Service.

San Francisco will be hazy until about 3 p.m., with a dense fog advisory in effect until 9 a.m. Highs are expected to reach the high 60s, and lows will reach the mid 50s at night.
Oakland will be continuously hazy through the day, with highs in the mid 70s. Lows at night will drop to the upper 50s. San Jose will be hazy and foggy through the morning, with increasing sun in the afternoon. Highs will be near 80, before cooling to the mid 50s Sunday night.

Santa Rosa will also be increasingly sunny with highs reaching 80. Temperatures at night will drop to the low 50s. Increasing winds late Sunday through early in the week brings chances of improved air quality in the Bay Area.
