It's Fire Season At San Francisco's Ocean Beach!

Check the rules and gather some driftwood for a memorable evening (or make s'mores with the kiddos).

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — Fire season has opened at San Francisco's Ocean Beach this week with the placement of 16 new fire rings, according to National Park Service officials.

The fire rings, installed on Wednesday between stairwells 15 and 20, are now available free to groups with 25 or fewer people on a first-come, first-serve basis.

A permit is required for groups of 25 or more, with permits starting at $50 for groups of up to 100 people, according to a park service spokesman.
