Lost Navy Boat Found After Nearly 100 Years

Officials announced today that they located the USS Conestoga just 30 miles off the coast of San Francisco.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA- A sunken Navy boat has been located off the coast of San Francisco, after being declared missing nearly 100 years ago.

Mecury News reports, the USS Conestoga was headed for Pearl Harbor from San Francisco in March 1921, with a crew of 56-men.

The boat never made it to Hawaii and was declared lost at sea following a search of hundreds of thousands of miles via water and air. Officials from the Navy and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration announced that the tug has been found about 30 miles off the coast, near the Farallon Islands.
