A Love Letter To Eddie
"You were the boy on the other side of the tracks and there was something about you I couldn't resist."

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, we asked Patch readers to write a love letter to that special someone and let us deliver it. This is Michelle Borrero’s love letter to her husband, Eddie:
Dear Eddie,
It has been over two decades of blissful moments and deep connection. I feel blessed to share our love story with others and let you know how much I love you!

As a teenage girl, all I knew was that I felt a deep desire to be with you always. My heart was full and the passion I felt grew stronger with each passing year. You were the boy on the other side of the tracks and there was something about you I couldn’t resist.
I giggle when I think about our bus trip to Reno where we eloped and kept it a secret. I was 18 and you were 20. Being your “secret wife” while you were in the Navy was a special experience that only those who knew us could understand.

Committing ourselves again before God and those we loved two years later was a perfect way to start the next phase of our lives together. Our ups and downs were small and our love grew big. We moved several times, worked hard, played hard, went to school and accomplished great things as we supported one another.
As I reflect on the past two decades, I cherish our love and all the years of growing together and apart and together again. They say that the best wine is produced by grapes that have some struggle and I think that through the ups and downs we have created a pretty amazing vineyard.
Our greatest accomplishment was growing a family as our party of two turned into a party of five. Here we are today surrounded by bliss and filled with blessing just as we started. Thank you for the love, encouragement and all the things you do for our family.
With love and gratitude,
Michelle
