Man Known For Roller Skating Dies In Motorcycle Crash
The Golden Gate Park crash took the life of Tim Cramer, 53.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A San Francisco roller skater died in a motorcycle crash last week in Golden Gate Park, according to a friend and police.
Tim Cramer was 53 years old and had played a successful role in the city's roller skating scene, David Miles Jr., Cramer's friend said.
"We were best friends," Miles said by phone. "He was a great skater. He does this fantastic split" that no one can duplicate.

Miles is the founder and president of the California Outdoor Rollerskating Association, and goes by the moniker The GodFather of Skate in San Francisco. Miles is also the coordinator of the Golden Gate Park Skate Patrol, which helps injured skaters, bicyclists and other park visitors.
Cramer died in a crash last Thursday at 25th Avenue and Crossover Drive, about two blocks from Miles's home. Apparently, Cramer's bike clipped the back of a car and Cramer was thrown from the bike, Miles said.

Police said that officers found Cramer in the road when they got to the crash site that Thursday in the afternoon.
Cramer was an Army veteran and a "major part of the Black Rock Roller Disco Burning Man theme camp," according to Miles. Cramer was also a holy roller of the Church of 8 Wheels, San Francisco's roller disco.
He has a daughter and granddaughter.
A memorial is planned once the coronavirus restrictions are eased enough that the Church of 8 Wheels can reopen, Miles said. The medical examiner identified Cramer as a Guerneville resident.
