Man Slashed in Face, Robbed in SF Civic Center Area

Victim reports he was cut with a knife the suspect stole from him.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA- A man was slashed in the face and robbed during a fight with another man in San Francisco's Civic Center area Tuesday night, police said today.

The victim, a 49-year-old man, got into an argument with a man in his early 20s in the area of 11th and Market streets shortly before 10:20 p.m., according to police.

The argument escalated into a fight and the suspect then allegedly cut the victim in the face with a knife, stole his backpack and fled.

He was last seen traveling east on Mission Street, police said. The victim was taken to a hospital and is expected to survive his injuries, police said.

No arrest had been reported in the case as of this morning.
