“The subject had no identification upon his person at the time of his discovery and his identity was unknown,” the Sheriff’s Office said in a statement Tuesday.

“Working collaboratively, the Detectives and Investigator’s later positively identified the subject via scientific means. A next of kin searched was then completed and relatives located out of state were contacted and advised of the subject’s passing.”

Forensic and toxicology testing will be conducted later this week to determine the cause and manner of Michaels’ death, the Sheriff’s Office said.

“No further information will be released by the Coroner Division at this time, as this is an active and ongoing investigation,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
