San Francisco Police Officer Arrested For False Representations

SFPD officials say that nine-year department veteran Saqib Aslam, 29, is being charged with filing a false document to DMV and perjury.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA- A nine-year San Francisco police department veteran has turned himself in, following allegations that he had falsely represented himself on a DMV confidentiality form, according to San Francisco Police Department officials.

Department Chief Greg Suhr explained at a press conference last week that officer Saqib Aslam, 29, of South San Francisco, had was being investigated following a tip from another department member.

Aslam reportedly surrendered himself on April 29 and was booked at the San Francisco County Jail for on felony charges of filing a false document and perjury.

"The public’s trust is of the utmost importance to the members of the SFPD and the Department will continue to work hard to build and maintain this trust," said Suhr, "Department members will continue to hold each other accountable and will act swiftly to report any behavior that might bring dishonor to the Police Department and the City of San Francisco."
