San Francisco Woman Killed In Maryland Crash

She was one of two people hit by a volunteer fire department vehicle as the driver was running an errand.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A San Francisco resident, 36-year-old Jiayun Karen Liang, has died after being hit by a Rockville Volunteer Fire Department vehicle in Montgomery County, Maryland.

According to Montgomery County Police, Diane Evans, 59, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado assigned to the department when she struck a man and a woman at about 9:30 p.m. In an interview with Patch, Montgomery County Fire Chief Scott Goldstein said that Evans was returning to the firehouse after running an errand.

Both victims were taken to hospital. The crash happened on March 23. Liang died last Thursday, the 29th.
