SAN FRANCISCO, CA — As the weekend wraps up, we've rounded up all the stories you may have missed on Saturday and Sunday to prepare you for Monday.

But before we jump into Northern California's top stories, Golden State residents should know that a sweltering heat wave bearing down on the Golden State could poise California's power grid operator to issue a Flex Alert Monday, a voluntary call for consumers to reduce electricity use during critical times of stress on the grid.

As residents across the state crank up air conditioners and fans to beat the heat this week, the increased demand in electricity could strain the state's power grid, officials said.
