Snow Report for Bay Area Residents Headed to Tahoe: Jan. 11
I-80 has been closed in both directions due to limited visibility, according to California Highway patrol officials.
Recent storms have buried Truckee and Tahoe under massive amounts of snow and forced officials to close I-80. Blizzard, avalanche and flood warnings were issued for the area mountains through Wednesday. Forecasters are predicting more snow through Friday.
Thousands from around the Bay Area hope to head to the mountains this weekend to enjoy the piles of fresh powder but drivers are urged to check the road conditions before hitting the road.
