Where To Find The Best Taco In San Francisco

You're going to want to make this local joint your first taco destination in the New Year.

There's no shortage of delicious tacos in California, but according to The Daily Meal, one Bay Area restaurant has the best in the entire state. The organization recently rounded up all of the best foods and drinks around the country, from burgers and beers to Chinese food and fried chicken. And far as tacos are concerned, it seems San Francisco's La Taqueria has reigned supreme this year compared to other spots in California.

"When it comes to leaders of a culinary genre, there are few restaurants in America with greater gravitas for their respective focus than San Francisco's La Taqueria has for tacos," reports The Daily Meal, adding, "La Taqueria, just one of the Mission’s many casual Mexican joints, does Mexican the way it should be done: fresh."

Should you choose to kick off 2018 with one of these delicious tacos, you'll definitely want to order their carnitas, according The Daily Meal. "To prepare the carnitas, chef/owner Miguel Jara slow-cooks chunks ot of pork shoulder in cauldrons of bubbling lard until tender, then roasts it until it’s crispy. When it’s tucked into a double layer of corn tortillas and topped with your choice of pinto beans, onions, pico de gallo, cheese, crema, or guacamole (or none of the above), there just might be no better taco in America," reports the organization.
