Recology San Bruno is partnering with the City of San Bruno’s Beautification Task Force. We are currently organizing the annual Operation Clean Sweep and this year we are doing a 2019 San Bruno Earth Day Art Contest.

Event description:

Recology San Bruno and the City of San Bruno’s Beautification Task Force are rolling out the 2019 San Bruno Earth Day Art Contest. The Earth Day Art Contest is a great way for San Bruno students to show what Earth Day means to them and how they commit to helping the environment every day. The contest winner's art work will be used at the event and on the city’s website for event advertisement and other various purposes.

The poster contest is open to all 3rd through 5th grade San Bruno students, one entry per student. The theme is Earth Day and can be done in any medium as long as it fits on a legal size piece of paper. Submissions are due by Friday, March 1st, 2019 at the front desk of the San Bruno Public Library. The winner will be announced by March 15th, 2019 and will be recognized at a San Bruno City Council meeting.

Art Guidelines

  • Participants must be 3rd-5th grade students in San Bruno.
  • Theme: Earth Day! Show us what Earth Day means to you and how you commit to helping the environment every day.
  • Must be made individually, one entry per student.
  • Artwork must be no larger than 8.5 x 14 inches (legal size) on white paper, landscape (horizontal) only. No lined paper.
  • No copyrighted material, computer graphics, or characters; must be original.
  • Artwork can be done in any medium (paint, market, crayon, etc.). Must be 2D, delivered flat, not rolled.

Completed Contest Submission Form below must accompany artwork contest submission. Submissions are due by Friday, March 1, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. to San Bruno Public Library:

Winning artwork will be announced by March 15 via press release.

I understand that this artwork becomes the property of the City of San Bruno's Beautification Task Force and maybe reproduced or publicly displayed. I hereby give and grant to the City of San Bruno's Beautification Task Force free and unlimited right to use, distribute, publish and republish, for any and all news, trade, publicity, commercial or other advertising purposes, artwork submitted by the student named above for the 2019 San Bruno Earth Day Art Contest. The original artwork will not be returned. The student's name, school and grade level may be released with photographs of the student and his/her artwork.
