On Thursday, January 17, 2019, at 11:30 p.m., a San Bruno Police Officer responded to the 500 block of San Mateo Avenue regarding the report of a stabbing. The victim reported that an unidentified subject had struck him in the back and then walked away. The victim went into a nearby business where it was learned that he had actually been stabbed in the back. He was transported to a nearby hospital and treated for non-life threatening stab wounds.

A subsequent investigation led officers to the 400 block of Angus Avenue where they learned that 26-year old Oscar SananCastro of San Bruno, had threatened to kill two of his neighbors while charging at them with knives in his hands. It was also determined that SananCastro was the subject who had stabbed the victim on San Mateo Avenue. SananCastro was located nearby, arrested, and booked into the San Mateo County Jail for three counts of attempted homicide.
