Call To Police Leads To Arrest of Peninsula Car Burglary Suspect
The San Bruno 21-year-old man identified as the suspect was cited for possession of stolen property and released, police said.
SAN BRUNO, CA — A call to police by a sharp-eyed resident led to the arrest Friday night of a 21-year-old San Bruno man as an auto burglary suspect, San Bruno police said.
Police were notified shortly before midnight that a man wearing dark clothing and a white facemask was checking vehicle door handles in the 500 block of Poplar Avenue.
A man fitting the description was located and "a search of his person, vehicle and residence revealed numerous items of stolen property, which were believed to be taken from unlocked vehicles," police said.

The man was cited for possession of stolen property and released, but police said they are looking into whether there is a connection between the suspect and similar recent incidents reported along the Jenevein Avenue corridor.
Police asked the public to continue being vigilant and check that vehicles are properly locked.
