If you take your bike on CalTrain or would like to, this meeting is for YOU

Hello Bicycle Commuters and Supporters,

Thank you to those who attended the workshop on April 17 to explore reconfiguration of electric trains for better bike-car layout. Caltrain staff limited reconfiguration to only three bike cars, which was insufficient – we need at least four bike cars as described here. Nonetheless, we are hopeful that the workshop is an indication that staff values customer input and will work toward a solution suitable for all passengers. But we need your help – please read on!

Final Board Decision about Bike Cars on June 6
The Caltrain board will vote on final configuration for electric trains at its meeting on June 6. We need to hold them to their promise of 8:1 seats-to-bike-spaces, that is, 84 bike spaces per 7-car electric train. Mark your calendar!

Time: 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 6
Place: 1250 San Carlos Avenue, San Carlos

Report All Bicycle Bumps
Please report all bicycle bumps using Caltrain’s bicycle bump report form, which automatically sends a tweet @CaltrainBikes. It is critical for Caltrain to hear about bicycle bumps, especially now!

Please forward this email to other bike riders and anyone who cares about bicycle commuting. Thank you for your continued support!

More bikes, no bumps,
