Caltrain Stopped in Both Directions After Train Strikes Man on Tracks

According to a statement issued at 10:35 p.m. the victim was alive and taken to the hospital for treatment.

A man was struck by a southbound Caltrain Tuesday tonight in San Bruno, causing San Mateo County Transit District Officials to stop trains in both directions and plan a bus bridge.

Southbound train #194 struck a person who was on the tracks illegally at 10:03 p.m., according to SamTrans officials.

There were roughly 850 passengers on board at the time. Officials initially reported this incident as a fatality, but according to a statement issued at 10:35 p.m. the victim was alive and being transported to a hospital for treatment.

Emergency crews and investigators are currently on the scene. Further details were not immediately available.
