MEETING GOALS
Support learning and cross-sector connections and collaboration through the Adaptation Exchange.
Provide information and address questions on the Community Adaptation Planning Pilots.
Provide opportunities for Collaborative member participation, input and leadership on climate adaptation through release of the Collaborative First Year Action Plan.
KEY CONVENING ELEMENTS
Adaptation Exchange
Attend to hear and learn about climate readiness and adaptation efforts underway in San Mateo County. Collaborative members are being invited to give short five-minute presentations on their projects, how the Collaborative members could support these efforts or what the projects might be able to offer the Collaborative. If you have a project that is trying to address fire, flooding, sea level rise, emergency or disaster preparedness, public health or other climate change related challenges and are interested in sharing this with the Collaborative, please let us know immediately via the RSVP form.
Community Adaptation Planning Pilot: Call for Projects
Come hear about a soon to be released funding opportunity being awarded through the County of San Mateo Office of Sustainability for climate adaptation planning. The County will award funding to two (2) pilot projects in San Mateo County to develop neighborhood or community specific adaptation plans for increasing community resilience to the changing climate. The Convening offers members an opportunity to hear about this funding opportunity, ask clarifying questions and get early feedback and input on project ideas through in-person office hours with County staff.
Climate Ready SMC Collaborative First Year Action Plan
Join us to hear more about the Collaborative First Year Action Plan that has been developed based on all your input and feedback. This Plan over the next year will help set a foundation for a Collaborative that is strategic in its approach, is action oriented and creates a mechanism to coordinate actions, encourage information sharing and dialogue, develop networks, build political support and empower community leadership. The plan includes an overview of topics to be covered at upcoming convenings and proposed topic specific working groups (Wildfire, Flooding and Sea Level, Transportation, Health and Community).
