There are 16 critical infrastructure sectors that are important for the safety and security of the United States. These sectors rely on the Internet, and we all play a role in keeping the sectors safe. This week of National Cybersecurity Month focuses on awareness of these sectors and provides a look-ahead to November’s Critical Infrastructure Security and Resilience Month.

Today is the Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill!

At 10:18 a.m. local time today, millions of people around the world practiced during the Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drills. Drop, Cover, and Hold On is the best way to protect yourself during an earthquake.
The ShakeOut takes place on the third Thursday of October every year. Whether you joined this morning’s drill or not, visit Ready.gov/earthquakesto be prepared year-round.

Are You Prepared for Flu Season?

Flu Season is just around the corner! Did you get your flu vaccine? The flu can affect people of all ages, even those in good health. Protect against the flu by getting a flu shot, and use these tips to stay healthy during flu season:

• The CDC recommends getting a flu vaccine by the end of October.
• Getting the flu vaccine can help you avoid missing work or school because of the virus.
• It takes about two weeks after you get the vaccine to be fully protected. Get a flu vaccine before the virus spreads in your community.

Webinar: Vehicular Active Assailant Attacks
