Grade Separation Archway Design Comes Before Council

Although the project is far from being finished, the final picture of what San Bruno's grade separation project will look like will come clearer into view at today's City Council meeting.

The council will be receiving a report and deciding on the final design for the decorative archway for the project, which will overlook San Bruno Avenue as drivers pass under the new Caltrain station that is currently being built downtown.

According to an artist's rendering released when the project first started construction, the archway will span the length of the street above the tracks. Decorative San Bruno signs are also supposed to flank the overpass.

Also on today's meeting agenda:

• The San Bruno Park School District will be giving a presentation about its parcel tax, which will be on the November ballot.
• The council will be checking off on labor agreements recently reached by the city and two of its unions—mid-management and management. Three other city employee unions are still in labor negotiations.
• The city treasurer will be giving a report about the city's investment portfolio, which includes the $70 million PG&E settlement money.
