On Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at approximately 11:06 pm, San Bruno Police Officers responded to the 800 block of Hensley Ave, regarding a vehicle collision where a burgundy Scion TC had collided into several parked vehicles. Witnesses observed several individuals flee from the scene of the collision.
Shortly after, San Bruno Police Dispatch received a 9-1-1 call where a reporting party advised that he had been carjacked.
Officers located the reporting party of the alleged carjacking a short distance from the collision. Subsequent investigation revealed that the reporting party was not a victim of carjacking, but was actually the driver of the Scion that was involved in the collision.
Passengers of the Scion were determined to be injured as a result of the vehicle collision and were transported to a local area hospital for further treatment and evaluation. 19 year-old South San Francisco resident Carlos Enrique Gomez Perez was subsequently placed under arrest and booked into San Mateo County Jail on charges related to hit and run resulting in injury to a person and filing a false police report.
