Housing Needs $Money$ In San Mateo County CA

On February 26th, we will be asking the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors to allocate $30 million per year for affordable homes.

Article Source: San Mateo County Housing Leadership Council

On February 26th, we will be asking the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors to allocate $30 million per year for affordable homes. In the last 5 years, County funds have created over 1,758 affordable homes. Last year, affordable housing builders applied for $50 million in funding, but there was only $23 million budgeted. We need to increase the allocation for the 2020 - 2022 budget cycle! The County's General Fund is very healthy this year, and we need to leverage those tax dollars to help move people from sleeping in cars and on the street to new, affordable homes. How can you help? For more information, check out our report Building on Success.

Menlo Park Considers Tenant Relocation Assistance

The City of Menlo Park City Council is considering a Tenant Relocation Assistance ordinance (click here for a flyer with more information) that would provide transparency for landlords and support for tenants at-risk of displacement. It was on the agenda for January 29th but has been postponed. The only way this ordinance will be discussed in Menlo Park is if the council hears from homeowners and renters who support providing a safety net for our most vulnerable residents.
