Hello Bicycle Commuters and Supporters,

June 6 is our last chance! The Caltrain Board will vote on final configuration for bike cars on electric trains on June 6. Caltrain staff's recommendation is prone to bike theft and has less bike capacity than trains today. Take action now because the board's decision will be with us for decades.

We need to show up in droves to get the board to override staff's faulty recommendation. Bring friends, too!

Time: 10:00 AM, Thursday, June 6

Place: 1250 San Carlos Avenue, San Carlos

  • Ask the board to direct staff to provide additional options for consideration to solve the layout problem, not rubber stamp staff's faulty recommendation
  • Explain that bike cars need at least half as many seats as bike spaces within view of bikes to match today's trains; any fewer will make bike theft even worse
  • Insist that the board keeps its promise of the 8:1 ratio of seats-to-bike-spaces, that is, 84 bike spaces per seven-car electric train
  • Share why bringing your bike on board is important to you
  • Include your city of residence with your signature
