Beware of This Latest Clever Scam
This is how it works:

You get a message from one of your Facebook friends complete with their profile photo saying “have you heard of my good fortune, I won $300,000 on the 2018 Powerball Jackpot”.
You would probably reply saying you were glad for them etc. You get another message saying “I can’t believe that you haven’t heard of this, the 2018 Powerball Jackpot (PBJ) in conjunction with Blue Stark’s Holding Company and Facebook are picking people at random on Facebook, using the Powerball Jackpot to help people in the community”. They then say again, “I can’t believe that you haven’t heard about this and in fact your name was on the winning list”. “You should check this website to find out if you are still eligible”, I’ve already got my $300,000, it was delivered to my door, I’ve paid off my debts and am looking at buying a new house”

Of course all this time you believe that you are communicating with your friend, after all, you’re looking at their picture with each message. You contact the website and ‘low & behold’ you’re eligible. You have to answer some questions to verify that it’s really you. Then they guarantee to send you the $300,000 right to your door next day. All you have to do is send them $1,000 to cover costs and delivery. If you are doubtful and send a message back to your friend to confirm this is all legitimate she will say “yes of course it’s true, otherwise I wouldn’t have told you about it and I got my money straight away” BUT IT’S NOT YOUR FRIEND THAT YOU’RE TALKING TO. They have hacked her account and are contacting all on her contact list. So please be aware, these guys are very convincing.
