On Monday, September 3, 2018, at approximately 8:30 PM, San Bruno Police Officers responded to the 100 block of El Camino Real in San Bruno regarding the report of a subject punching a dog.

The ensuing investigation revealed that 57-year-old Kevin Dempster, a South San Francisco resident, punched and strangled a small dog numerous times. The dog was eventually able to escape and run into a local business. Dempster was arrested and booked at the San Mateo County Jail for charges related to animal cruelty. The Peninsula Humane Society took custody of the dog.
