Pasta Pomodoro Closes in San Bruno

Local business owners have offered to hire those employees left without a job.

SAN BRUNO, CA — The Pasta Pomodoro restaurant chain abruptly closed its 15 Bay Area locations this week, including one in San Bruno. According to a report by KTVU, the chain notified their employees of the closures by text on Dec. 26.

The Italian eatery, which sold gift cards through Christmas, had locations across the Bay Area. Outraged customers took to social media to lambaste the chain for the way the closure was handled.

Gabriel Cuevas: You guys should be embarrassed on how you dismissed your employees in the San Fran Bay Area....sad
Don Satow: Very scummy. Sold gift cards and advertized gift cards for Christmas and then shutters the day after. I say they need to be punished.
David Molstad‎ Guess they closed. No fanfare.

Local restaurant owners including Rodney Worth and Tomatina have offered to hire those employees left unemployed the day after Christmas.
