Poll: Is the County Responsible for Deterring Drivers with Suspended Licenses?

Two weeks ago, a man with a suspended driver's license—due to a seizure disorder— hit and killed two cousins on El Camino Real with his vehicle.

On July 28, Rodney Corsiglia suffered a seizure while driving and , killing two cousins. Corsiglia had been knowingly driving with a permanently suspended driver’s license after the DMV told him, “You can't drive anymore - you're a danger if you do so,” according to San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe.

, severely injuring many but never having killed people before the July fatal incident in San Bruno.

Residents have expressed outrage at the man’s recklessness, demanding that Corsiglia be charged with murder. The District Attorney’s Office is pursuing murder charges.

However, other residents believe the system is “too soft,” and the man should have been punished more harshly to potentially prevent this most recent tragedy.
