As part of San Bruno Park School District Pre-School’s Adopt San Bruno Police project, on March 13, over one hundred preschool students (Belle Air, Rollingwood and Allen) were hosted by San Bruno Police Department on a field trip made possible by transportation funding from San Bruno Education Foundation. Accompanied by parents and teachers, the students were guided through the various daily operations of the Department including visiting the dispatch center, exploring police vehicles, and so forth.

The Adopt San Bruno Police activity began two years ago as part of the District’s first Big Lift Inspiring Summers program with the goal being to better connect students at a young age with the myriad of services police perform in our community on a daily basis. Since the inception of the program, police officers and the Chief, regularly visit preschool classes to read and engage with the young children.

The District acknowledges with deep appreciation the support of Chief of Police Ed Barberini and Officers Thomy Ledezma, Scott Rogge, and Sherry Campbell who are instrumental in the success of this joint endeavor on behalf of San Bruno children.
