Once again, San Bruno City employees demonstrated their commitment to being engaged with our community in ways outside their daily job responsibilities. Thanks to Public Works, Police and Fire and Recology, children and their parents from the District’s three preschool sites were treated to another Touch a Truck activity held adjacent to Belle Air school

These service providers bring their vehicles and equipment to share with the children while explaining the various community services they perform to keep our city safe and clean. The activity was designed to reinforce preschool values which teach about children about community service, being good citizens, and to be appreciative of those who work hard to make our City better.

The big hook and ladder fire engine was there along with a police vehicle, sanitation truck, street sweeper, tree trimmer and other trucks as well. The city employees who operate the vehicles interacted for over an hour with the children explaining what services they provide, how the equipment works, and invited the children to climb aboard and sit inside.

Activities like these are possible in San Bruno because of the strong partnership the School District has with City leaders. Thank you, San Bruno. Another example today that we live in “The City With a Heart”.
