San Bruno CA has A Bike Fix-It Station At BART

Ever have a flat tire or bike problems while taking BART

Article Source: City of San Bruno CA

Need to make a minor repair to your bicycle while commuting? Visit the new Bike Fix-It Station installed at the San Bruno BART station on Huntington Avenue! A Bike Fix-It Station provides an opportunity for bicycle riders to tune up, complete minor repairs and fill up bicycle tires on their own bicycles free of charge.

In 2017, the City of San Bruno was awarded a grant from the San Bruno Community Foundation to purchase and install a Bike Fix-It Station. The Bike Fix-It station is located outside of the paid area of the station but inside the gated area to allow public access for all users including BART riders and general public cyclists who pass by on Huntington Avenue, the most important north-south connecting bicycle corridor in San Bruno. The main purpose of installing this station is to encourage cycling in the community. Installing a Bike Fix-It station close to BART as one of the key transit hubs and in proximity to an important City bicycle corridor provides cyclists with the opportunity to perform minor repairs to their own bicycles in an emergency. Moreover, it encourages more transit riders to use bicycles as the first and last mile option.
