SUBJECT: Attempted Burglary/Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Burglary Tools/Conspiracy

CASE NUMBER: 1803205

DATE OCCURRED: September 27, 2018

TIME OCCURRED: 5:33 p.m.

CONTACT PERSON: Lieutenant Ryan Johansen

On Thursday, September 27, 2018, at approximately 5:33 pm, San Bruno Police Officers responded to the report of four (4) subjects actively looking into vehicles parked on the west side of the Tanforan Mall. The reporting party believed the subjects were preparing to break into vehicles parked nearby. Responding officers located the subjects in or about a vehicle with no license plates affixed. A subsequent investigation revealed the associated vehicle had reported stolen in Oakland, California. A search of the vehicle revealed two window punches commonly used in the commission of a burglary whereby burglars break vehicle windows and steal items from inside. All four (4) subjects were arrested for attempted burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle, possession of burglary tools, and conspiracy.

Those arrested were identified as 18 year old Mountain House resident Jaron Jones, 20 year old Brentwood resident Zaion Stone and two juveniles. Both adults were booked at the San Mateo County Jail and the juveniles were booked at the Hillcrest Juvenile Detention Facility.
