San Bruno Firefighters Host Students For Saturday Workshop

SAN BRUNO FIREFIGHTERS HOST STUDENTS FOR SATURDAY WORKSHOP

San Bruno, CA. April 30, 2019.

For the third consecutive year, San Bruno Fire Department organized an all-day Firefighter for a Day event for San Bruno fifth grade students.

This year’s activity on April 27th brought together twenty-six students who learned from firefighters about search and rescue, first aid, extinguishing a fire, and more.

Organized by Captain Nick Olivera, the firefighters have designed an engaging activity that leaves the students spellbound. A BBQ prepared by the fire fighters completes the experience.

Students are selected based on essays they write explaining why they want to participate in Firefighter for a Day. San Bruno fire fighters collaborate with fifth grade teachers to get the word out to students about the annual activity.

San Bruno Park School District greatly appreciates the support of the Fire Department in providing this memorable educational opportunity for students.
