San Bruno Police To Conduct DUI Checkpoint

SAN BRUNO, CA — The San Bruno Police Department announced it will hold a DUI checkpoint at an undisclosed location this weekend.

The operation will start 6 p.m. on Saturday and run through 3 a.m. on Sunday.

During the checkpoint, officers will look for signs that drivers are under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

“We are still out there in the middle of a pandemic because driving under the influence is still dangerous and puts a further strain on critical resources,” San Bruno Police Chief Ryan Johansen said in a statement.

Drivers convicted of DUI pay on average $13,500 in fines and penalties.

Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
