GAME WRAP:

CSM WINS LONE HOME NON-LEAGUE GAME, 73-47, OVER HARTNELL

SAN MATEO – Britney Lewis had 17 points and four steals as College of San Mateo won its lone home non-conference game (outside of a tournament), 73-47, over Hartnell College Friday evening. Kaitlyn Tamondong had nine assists and five steals. Nandi Eskridge paced the Bulldogs with seven rebounds.

San Mateo led nearly the entire game -- after Megan Jajeh broke an early 5-5 tie with three straight baskets, including a three. The Mercy (San Francisco) grad finished with 11 points.

Defensively CSM did not allow an opposing player to score in double figures. Megan Flores and Alexis Andrade led the Panthers (3-8) with nine points apiece.

--CSM improved its season record to 4-5, including wins in three of the last four games (two at last week’s Tom Martinez Invitational). The Bulldogs next play at De Anza’s Gervasoni Classic, opening on Thursday against Santa Barbara CC at 3 p.m. San Mateo does not return home until Jan. 16 to meet City College of San Francisco in a Coast North Conference game.

--All eleven CSM players scored in the game. They included newcomer Chastity Wheeler, a freshman guard out of James Logan High, who was injury cleared for her first action of the season.
