The San Mateo County History Museum, at 2200 Broadway in Redwood City, will present historian Barbara Wilcox who will conduct an illustrated discussion entitled Wings Over Redwood City: Origins of San Mateo County Aviation on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.

Wilcox will acquaint the audience with the little-known story of San Mateo County’s earliest aviation days, how Redwood City lost out to Mills Field - - today’s San Francisco International Airport - - and how locals can explore that history today.

This talk is part of the Museum’s “Courthouse Docket” program sponsored by the Cypress Lawn Heritage Foundation.

It will be free with the price of admission to the Museum ($6 for adults, $4 for seniors and students) and will take place in the Museum’s historic “Courtroom A.”
