Santa Comes To Peninsula Mall Amid Coronavirus Protocols

Santa will be available for "contactless" visits and professional photos from Black Friday through Christmas Eve at Tanforan.

SAN BRUNO, CA —Santa Claus is coming town, but it’ll be a little different this year in the age of coronavirus.

A Peninsula mall announced Monday that Santa will be available for “contactless” visits and professional photos from Black Friday through Christmas Eve with coronavirus modifications.

Santa’s hours this season at Tanforan will be 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays; on Christmas Eve, Santa will be available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Santa will not be available on Nov. 30 and Dec. 7.

Visitors will still be able to talk with Santa and share their wish lists, but Santa and each family member will be required to wear masks and maintain social distance.

Enhanced cleaning protocols will be in place throughout the holiday season, and the center’s photography partner, Cherry Hill, has instituted its own COVID-19 safety measures as well, including requiring Santa and his team to wear face masks and complete a temperature check each day before they interact with guests.

To reduce overall wait times and promote social distancing and contactless payment, families are strongly encouraged to make a reservation in advance of their visit at http://ow.ly/6DcK30rjs5m.
Reservations are encouraged but not required. Walk-up visits will be accommodated on a space-available basis.
