SFO Starts Weekly Food Truck Market Thursday Morning
Officials will soon examine the food trucks' success and whether this should become a recurring event.

Traveling just got tastier with the arrival of food trucks at San Francisco International Airport Thursday.
Two food trucks from the vendor group "Off The Grid" began serving gourmet street food curbside on the departure level of Terminal 1, near the Southwest Airlines doors.
The trucks will be there Thursday and the next three Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The trucks are offering Hawaiian fare and Indian food from Curry Up Now today, airport spokesman Doug Yakel said. He said the trucks offer locally produced food and support local businesses.
"Let's give (passengers) some other new cuisine options," he said.
Next week, a Kung Fu Tacos will be at the airport along with the Mexican-Filipino fusion truck Senor Sisig.
The trucks will be at Terminal 1 for a four-week trial period. After that, airport officials will confer with the Off the Grid team to determine if the program should continue based on sales and other factors, Yakel said.
The trucks are open to airport employees and travelers in a pre-security area. Tables and chairs have been set up for diners.
Yakel said that usually, passengers prefer to eat after they have checked in for their flights, but that the appeal of the food trucks may tempt hungry travelers to fuel up before heading through security.
