SMC Alert - San Mateo County's Alert System
The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office is warning residents that as the rainy season approaches it brings with it slick roadway conditions and reduced visibility. As the first rains begin shortly, oil that has accumulated on the roadway will make the surface unusually slippery. Motorists should drive accordingly, reducing their speed, increase their distance from vehicles in front of them and be aware of reduced visibility at times.
Always wear your seat belt, make sure children are properly secured in car seats and booster seats and as always refrain from using electronic handheld devices while operating your vehicle.
