Guest Speaker

Our speaker for the April 3rd 2019 meeting is Lt. John Norris – California Dept. of Fish and Wildlife. His topic is “Combating the drug cartels in order to reclaim America’s wildlands.”

Lt Norris earned his BS and MS degrees from San Jose State. He became a game warden for California Fish and Wildlife in 1992. In 2013, he developed the Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET), an organization aimed at combating the marijuana cartel’s decimation of wildlife resources. He was awarded the Governor’s Medal of Valor for lifesaving and leadership efforts in 2008. John has written two books on the subject of today’s talk. He continues to train law enforcement in combating the tactics used by narcotics operators in their attempted appropriation of the nation’s wildlands for their own purposes.
