Police said they received an overwhelming response to a January 2 announcement about the visit and they are expecting traffic to be higher than normal. Police are asking the public to be patient.

Parking will be available at the Elks Lodge at 228 West 20th Avenue, the parking lot at California Casualty at 20th and Alameda de Las Pulgas, the Serra High School lot at 20th and Stratford Way and San Mateo City Hall at 330 West 20th.

“On behalf of the San Mateo Police Activities League of the City of San Mateo, we are incredibly excited to welcome the Giants World Champions trophies to San Mateo,” said PAL Program Coordinator/Junior Giants Commissioner Mo Mazzocco, in a statement.

Last year the league served more than 260 children who live in the area, Mazzocco said. The San Bruno Junior Giants program served more than 300 area children.

The Junior Giants program is the flagship program of the Giants Community Fund, serving more than 22,000 boys and girls in northern and central California and southern Oregon.
