San Bruno Avenue Medians Improvement Project

Update 1/15/19
Along San Bruno Avenue, the installation of accessible curb ramps is complete, and the irrigation system and pavers in the medians are currently underway. In the coming weeks, a new irrigation controller, pedestrian push buttons and pedestrian traffic heads will be installed. Thereafter, plants and trees will be planted along the medians. The work schedule is subject to delay, depending on the weather.

Update 11/21/18

The installation of accessible curb ramps on San Bruno Avenue at Traeger Avenue are complete. Due to the weather and utility conflicts, the completion of the curb ramps and San Bruno Avenue and Cherry Avenue have been postponed to the week of November 26, weather permitting.

Please continue to use caution walking near and around the work area. Businesses remain open during their regular hours.

Update 11/9/18

Construction on the San Bruno Avenue Street Medians Improvements Project continues. The island passageway at San Bruno Avenue near the on/off ramps at I-280 and ten curb ramps are currently being worked on in preparation for formwork and concrete pour scheduled during the weeks of November 12 and November 19. Work in the median islands will begin after the curb ramps are installed. No work is scheduled during the Thanksgiving holiday break, November 22 and 23.

The City of San Bruno will begin construction on the San Bruno Avenue Street Medians Improvements Project beginning Monday October 22, 2018 through January 2019, weather permitting. Work will be performed on San Bruno Avenue between I-280 on/off ramp and Traeger Avenue. The scheduled work includes the installation of accessible curb ramps, pedestrian traffic enhancements, drip irrigations and replacement of landscape and hardscape in the medians. All existing trees in the medians will be replaced with 28 trees.

Traffic will be impacted between the hours of 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and traffic delays should be expected.
