On Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at 8:02 pm, San Bruno Police Officers responded to a business on the 500 block of El Camino Real regarding numerous vehicle burglaries that had occurred. While officers were investigating these crimes and checking the area for possible suspects, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office detained two individuals in Millbrae for reasons not initially related to these crimes. These Sheriff’s Office investigation revealed that these subjects were in possession of numerous pieces property belonging to the victims of the burglaries in San Bruno, as well as evidence that they had committed additional burglaries in other cities. Thanks to the outstanding work by the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, twenty-three year old Vallejo resident Ivan Barajas Sanchez and nineteen year old San Pablo resident Alexis Castaneda Rodriguez were arrested and booked into San Mateo County Jail on charges related to numerous vehicle burglaries, attempted vehicle burglaries, and conspiracy. These arrests come on the heels of multiple arrests made by our officers last Thursday for vehicle burglaries as well.
